My name is Berit Norheim and in 1999 I established my all year round sole proprietorship, Aktiv Fritid – ut på tur. Aktiv Fritid – ut på tur also offers kayaks and canoes for sale and rental.

On the eastern coast of Tjøme, I own a beautiful property where I have built up our Base Camp. At this location we have a large Gamme with a kitchen which we use to cook and serve wonderful food to groups of 20 to 70 people.

At Base Camp we offer our guests a series of exciting activities, both high up and at ground level. We emphasize that everyone should be able to participate – even those with health problems. Having large muscles and being in top condition is not necessary, there are challenges suited for everyone. Everyone shall, regardless of their physical condition, get the opportunity to experience achievement and activities fit for them.

When developing new activities, we emphasize that they should be safe, exciting, challenging and maybe even require some courage. But the most important thing is that they should not be as physically demanding that there are only a few who can do them.

I am creative and make new activities every year. This year we have been working on our new amusing indoor activity, Fact, taste and fiction. This activity is best suited for groups which do not have much time to spend on activities. Our latest outdoor news is the acrobatic Via Ferrata route which we established during the autumn of 2008. It was a difficult task creating the route, and many hours were spent by the staff hanging from a rope with a drill. However, the result was very good and the view of the sea is amazing.

I have a super friendly staff with instructors who motivate, instruct and give a lot of positive feedback to our guests. You will find no lists of extreme trips to the fringes of the earth that they have attended, simply because they are normal people who enjoy the sort of activities that we offer.
